About this place

Certaldo’s Museum of Sacred Art occupies rooms in the former Augustinian convent, near the Church of Saints James and Philip. Its collections come from local churches and introduce the artistic heritage of the Valdelsa through paintings, sculptures, textiles and liturgical objects.

The route includes medieval and Renaissance works, precious metalwork and evidence of the links between the rural parish churches and the village. The museum forms part of Certaldo Alto’s museum circuit, together with Palazzo Pretorio and the House of Boccaccio.
