About this place
The Sanctuary of Santa Sperandia is linked to the history of the Benedictine community and devotion to the saint, who died in Cingoli in 1276 and is one of the town’s patron saints. Rebuilt several times from the thirteenth century on the site of an earlier building dedicated to Saint Michael, the church preserves her body.
A visit introduces a place of devotion that remains active on the edge of the historic centre. The courtyard and church form an intimate route, subject to the sanctuary’s opening arrangements and with respect for services; the monastery’s spaces follow the religious community’s rules.
