Centro storico di Itri e Chiesa di San Michele

The historic centre of Itri is spread out on the hill below the castle, amongst gates, narrow streets and small squares. Piazza Frà Diavolo and the Church of St Michael the Archangel are two key points on a walk that offers a glimpse of the town’s medieval layout and traces of village life.

The church is situated along the path leading up to the fortress and holds an important place in local religious history. The route is best covered on foot, with inclines and steps; the interiors of the religious buildings should be visited in accordance with their current opening hours.
